Research Plan..

Our group decided that we would complete 20 questionnaires altogether, dispatching 5 each to random participants. In order to do this we assigned an age group to each member of the group, Emily is focusing on ages 16-17, Harry 18-21, Jack 22-30 and I am focusing on 31+. We chose to put emphasis on the older age groups because these are the people that would most likely spend money on purchasing albums from shops or even songs from iTunes. The questionnaire aims to find out who listens to Indie Rock, why they listen to it, who their favourite Indie Rock band is what they would expect to see in an Indie Rock band video. We would also like to know if the participants think a music video should be completely linked to the song, for example if its a slow song should the video also be slow paced, and why they think this. We would do this by having a mixture of open/closed questions and with the use of a Lickert scale. After we have found out what we want to know from our questionnaires, we will each conduct either a focus group or an interview with a minimum of two people from our designated age group. We have started the work by splitting up the jobs that need to be completed, Emily is creating the questionnaire, Harry is researching into the sales figures of Indie Rock bands, Jack is doing Secondary research on Indie Rock artists and their type of music and I am going to start by creating the questions that would be asked during the interview or focus group so that we gain in depth answers to questions that we actually want to know about.
